OVERVIEW: This 1-day course is an extension of Acct I emphasizing the Code of Federal Regulations 7 CFR 1767, Cooperative Accounting, covering chart of accounts specific to cooperatives, and how the respective areas of the chart of accounts are represented in the 2 (two) basic Cooperative financial statements – Balance Sheet & Statement of Operations. Discussions and course materials will cover the impact of charges and decision making and how those costs impact Cooperative financial statements. Participants will engage in group discussions and evaluate impacts to Cooperative financial statements of various scenarios and examples. This course is designed to apply real life examples of day-to-day transactions, how to apply the uniform system of guidance, and evaluate the outcome in the financial statements. It is designed for individuals who understand 7 CFR 1767, the Uniform System of Accounts, and desire an understanding of how those accounts are represented in the financial statements [Form 7]. [For employees new to Cooperative accounting, it is strongly advised to take the GEMC Acct I Cooperative Accounting for New Accountants course first.]
