This program has been designed to assist dispatchers and field personnel in originating correct switching orders and perform switching to maintain the integrity of the distribution system.

The training provides information about substation and distribution safety, substation lowside and distribution one-line diagrams, substation lowside equipment and distribution equipment, guidelines and hands-on practical exercises necessary to originate and perform correct switching orders.

After successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to correctly originate switching orders on distribution substation and down-line equipment, and restore power on a distribution system.
