Today's cameras have a dizzying array of features, many of which do more to confuse us than to improve our picture quality. Join professional photographer, Billy Newman, as he teaches you how and when to use the essential controls on your DSLR or mirrorless camera. In this hands-on workshop, Billy will teach you about manual mode, aperture priority, composition, white balance, color spaces, resolution, file formats, and more. Bring your camera with a fully charged battery, because this is not just a lecture. In this class, you will practice what you learn, and you will be encouraged to ask questions about your particular camera. Bring two photographs that you are disappointed in. Billy will help you determine what went wrong. Bring images that are blurred, too light, too dark, and otherwise unacceptable. Flash drive preferred, but prints or a easily accessed link will work too.

The course will meet on September 24th, at the ECTC, from 9:00-4:00. The tuition for this course is $195 per participant. Georgia Magazine subscribers receive a discounted rate of $150. Your cooperative will be invoiced upon completion of the course. If you have any additional questions, please contact Lauren Dodson at
