255.G1 Understanding Collections and Disconnections
This class provides an overview of business related issues regarding service disconnects and collection processes in the utility industry. It highlights the skills necessary to position your utility in a positive manner during even the most negative of customer interactions. It also includes case studies of actual and potential customer situations that could have a negative impact on your utility, including legal action. This class will encourage attendees to review current procedures and past performance to prevent or reduce the number of potentially negative factors in these processes.
Attendees will learn how to appropriately interact with customers who are habitual late payers or who have had their electric service discontinued. A discussion of do’s and don’ts in collection activity will lead to better business practices.
