Soft Skills That Matter and Emotional Intelligence
Sometimes employees are challenged in providing excellent customer service due to poor communication skills, lack of knowledge/understanding, impatience, insufficient conflict resolution, and so on. This course will examine the five (5) aspects of interpersonal communication that will allow employees to express their ideas and thoughts in a way that enables them to better demonstrate quality service to their customers, clients, and other stakeholders in their company.
Emotional intelligence refers to an individual’s ability to recognize emotions, discern between complex emotions, and label emotions appropriately. It is important to exercise emotional intelligence as it relates to oneself and those with whom we work. In this course, participants will learn about emotional self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management as it relates to professional work settings. Correlations between emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and empathy will be explored. Emotional intelligence is helpful when communicating, actively listening, and developing personal leadership styles.
