Travel Requirements

Travel may be required for training and assisting both cooperative districts in duties explained in responsibilities.

Minimum Education

BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum Experience

Previous experience with an electric cooperative or other utility preferred, but not required.

Job Description

(a) Ensure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition SCADA Master is maintained and operational for intended uses.
(b) Give technical assistance in the installation of the SCADA system.
(c) Developing system sectionalizing studies and coordinating system protective devices.
(d) Working closely with the staking department to establish good and uniform engineering construction practices, including but not limited to, transformer sizing, conductor sizing, voltage problems, wiring requirements, lighting layouts, subdivision layouts, revenue metering design, etc.
(e) Analyzing data collected from power quality equipment to solve quality issues.
(f) Extract data from billing, SCADA, and mapping systems as needed for engineering studies.
(g) Assist with the maintenance and use of technical systems including, but not limited to, Geographical Information System (GIS), Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI), SCADA, Staking and Outage Management.
(h) Assist with maintaining an accurate system model for GIS, engineering analysis and outage system.
(i) Maintains, Installs Programs, Upgrades and Configures necessary engineering specific software or equipment. Must be familiar with and/or able to learn a wide variety of common technical skills including, but not limited to, Windows, MS Office, SQL Server, CAD, Visual Basic for Applications, networking, ladder logic, security, and vendor specific programming languages and configuration software.
(j) Design, test and install simple and complex revenue metering applications in the field.
(k) Extensive knowledge in AMI structure to be able to create detailed reports, troubleshoot problems, and program revenue meters.

Job Requirements A valid Driver’s License is required. Office position with some field work. After an offer of employment has been made, a physical examination is required which will include drug testing.
